Ever since Reggie Baril was younger, he wanted to be outside. Whether he was bouncing off of the walls in pre-school or tearing up his family home, one thing was for certain: this was a kid who couldn’t be containted. Hidden underneath that tornado of perpetual energy was something special. Reggie was a voracious reader. In between his shifts at the class clown factory, he’d always have a book underneath his desk to occupy his mind. Bedtimes would be delayed by hours due to a hidden novel and flashlight under his covers. He slowly but surely filled his mind with the very same adventurous and energetic world he longed to see in his reality. It wouldn’t be until high school that he would begin to make this world come to life.

Using a limited background in creative writing and the performance chops from starring in a few school plays, Reggie created “ToBy”. The high energy, brash, and confident alter ego born from the imagination he’d cultivated for so many years. Applying his love of hip hop, indie rock, and emotional songwriting to an artist project that would take him across the country to perform shows and work with producers and directors that changed his life. Having moved to Los Angeles in 2017, he put out the pivotal ToBySeason Vol. I mixtape with legendary super producer, Aleks Vinter. This led him to signing a limited record deal with Magnetic Moon Records and releasing The Outside EP (2020) and his heart-wrenching debut album effort L’esprit (2021).

Recently, ToBy’s been hard at work playing shows with the likes of Johan Lennox and Carter Ace and cooking up hits in the studio with notable producers such as SebZel, Reef Boii, and his grammy nominated hometown best friends, smle.
